The man at the helm of Desire team is Ian Jackson, who ran Britain's first swing club, Nightshift with his partner, Jude until it was busted and closed down. Jude left for Tim Woodward at Skin Two and Ian was swiftly joined by the lively Leslie Ann Sharrock, a member of Feminists Against Censorship. The magazine was launched for the newsagents as an A4 glossy but they felt restricted by the censorship from WHSmut and Measley Menzies.
With the purchase of an enormous mailing list, Ian launched a mail-order only swingers magazine, and hundreds of thousands of housholds in Britian suddenly had invitations to swap and swing. They flourished from there are the team is now joined by Ian Lowry and Jo Perryman.
