Andy's latest book, Six Positions is a celebration of sex, beginning as a fling into gay fun but soon becoming more pensive, allowing ordinary mortals to share his contemplations on the many things we try to grapple with all our lives, such as the relationship between lust, love death, fear, tragedy and spirituality.
Andy's first erotic story was written in London in 1998. It appeared in the anthology "Quickies" and then was selected to be in the anthology "Best Gay Erotica 1999." Since then, other stories about sex and sexuality have appeared in another twenty anthologies, magazines and on-line publications including the Quickies and Best Gay Erotica series, Best Gay Asian Erotica, and Best American Erotica.
Of Cantonese heritage, Andy was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and has lived in Toronto, Brussels and London before making it to Sydney in 1999. "Six Positions: Sex Writing by Andy Quan" is Andy's third book. His other books are "Calendar Boy", a book of short fiction which was also co-published in Australia by Penguin, and "Slant", a book of poetry. Andy is also a singer and songwriter, works by day doing international policy work for Australia's national HIV/AIDS organisation, and at times, misses London terribly.
