WINNER Carley Hague

Very short, beaded, fine silk dresses which swing like waves and provide gentle bondage like the depths of the ocean. She uses sea creatures, such as the octopus and all kinds of fish, to adorn the body and fulfil her fantasies.

I have always been fascinated by the creatures that lie deep at the bottom of the ocean. Their strange habits communicating by wiggles and flicks, intriguing each other and often deceiving each other. Their flickers of light and stunning grace led me to a challenge of recreating their movement with fabrics, the finest silk chiffon changent and treasure chest of beads. So the light causes ripples and walking creates jiggles.

The prize piece allows you to be trapped inside a jellyfish a mask of cascading beads and no escape for your arms so your legs are the only flesh exposed to outside sensations.

Carley Hague B.A. fashion design from Middlesex University
