Eleni has been a member of Outsiders for almost a decade. She was feeling low, bad about herself and her disabled, overweight body. So, sometime in 2004, she decided to change her fate. She volunteered to be the model for the Outsiders 25th Anniversary publicity shots and to come into the Outsiders office to help the club thrive. And has she had an impact! There is laughter and hope reverberating through the membership lists and emails, and the club is going from strength to strength. She has initiated several new projects including the Outsiders Helpline, parties and regular outings. Plus, Eleni has taken up swimming, has lost weight and is the centre of attention wherever she goes. Eleni has cerebral palsy.
After a course in business studies I worked as a Human Resource Assistant for fourteen years at Haringay Council, for Kith and Kids Friendship Scheme, and a disabled person's youth club. I won a Millennium Award for my work at the Enfield Cypriot Association.
I have been volunteering for Outsiders for two years now and I thoroughly enjoy my work. I plan to enter the Erotic Awards as a stripper in 2006.
