William Levy (b.1939) An American from Baltimore. Now resides in a house with steep staircases in central Amsterdam, where many discussions and realisations about sex have meandered through the day and night.
Back in the sixties and seventies, Bill was founder and chief editor at the cutting edge of the zeitgeist including: Suck, The First European Sexpaper, (with Germaine Greer) and The Fanatic. More recently he has worked as European Editor for High Times and Penthouse. His work has been exhibited, his poetry and writing widely published, and he has given readings all over the world. He contributed to Stiffest of the Corpse, Chick for a Day, The World's Best Erotic writing, The Ecstatic Moment.. He continues to write and publish books prolifically.
Director and lead of X-rated videos - No Assholes Today and When Extremes Meet and since 1987 has produced and presented the weekly Dr Doo-Wop Show now on Radio Patapoe 88.3FM.
Married to literary translator and TV archivist Susan Janseen, they have a daughter Swaan. He is a good cook and shy populist. He adores dancing and has been sighted along the canals talking to himself, making wild gestures, while cycling through a snowstorm.
