Louisa Summerfield is a busy single mother and has been in a wheelchair since the age of 15, after a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis at the age of nine. Her previous career included law and business consultancy, and now aged 40 she has created a designer collection specifically tailored for the independent, sexy and confident wheelchair woman. Louisa commissioned Swedish designer Amelia Ursache to design the clothes, which are ultra-feminine and sexy, so that when you enter a room you won’t be remembered because of your wheelchair, but for the clothes you wear and the confidence you exude. She is now adding a range for larger wheelchair ladies called Wheelie-Voluptuous.
